True Story

"TRUE STORY"
In the later 1870's, after robbing a series of banks, brothers Jesse and Frank James were riding their horses in a pounding storm and they came across a small shack in the Ozarks.
They noticed the lights were on. They decided to rest their horses and knock on the door. An elderly lady answered and ushered them in. She took their wet jackets, lit a fire and put a pot of stew on the stove.
Frank told Jesse, "She reminds me of momma."
During dinner, the lady told the brothers that she was a recent widow and she was in debt and the bank was going to foreclose on her home the following day unless she came up with $800.
The boys listened and told her everything would work out. They thanked her for the meal and she insisted they stay the night.
The next morning when she awoke, she discovered the brothers were gone but they left a note on her kitchen table with money. The note read: "Ma'am, here is $800, pay the banker but "make sure to get a receipt."
She was thrilled. When the banker arrived, she gave him the money and at the last minute she remembered to ask him for a receipt.
On his way back to town, the James brothers ambushed the banker and robbed him of the $800.
thanks to Panache Report for this.

RETIREMENT PLANNING FOR 2008

If you had purchased $1000.00 of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00.With Enron, you would have had $16.50 left of the original $1000.00.With WorldCom, you would have had less than $5.00 left.If you had purchased $1000 of Delta Air Lines stock you would have $36.00 left. But, if you had purchased $1,000.00 worth of beer one year ago, drank all the beer, then turned in the cans for the aluminum recycling REFUND, You would have had $214.00.Based on the above, the best current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle. It's called the 401-Keg Plan.
